UrCove by HYATT Beijing Forbidden City

This hotel offers a great location, just a few minutes walk from Tiananmen square (don't forget to book your tickets a day in advance). There are complementary snacks, drinks and a coffee machine in the rooms and the rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. They are cleaned daily. The best thing about this hotel is the rooftop cafe and bar, boasting a view of Beijing and the forbidden city from above. Food and drinks are reasonably priced on the rooftop terrace. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Just got back from a few days at this hotel in Beijing, and it was awesome! The room was comfortable—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is super convenient, right near Wangfujing, which is a fun shopping area. Plus, it’s just one metro stop from the Forbidden City, making it easy to check out the sights. I have to give a shoutout to Jeff, the concierge. He was super friendly and really helpful. You could tell he genuinely cared about making our stay great. I’d give him a five-star rating for sure! Overall, I’d recommend this hotel if you’re visiting Beijing!

We had a great experience staying at the Urcove Hyatt. The family room was spacious and comfortable. The cleaners and receptionists, especially Faye, were very helpful and friendly. The hotel's location is perfect for accessing the main Beijing landmarks.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and overall had a great experience. The room itself leans toward the darker side (I did edit some photos to brighten them up a bit), and the bathroom sink counter is a little low, which made it slightly less practical. There's a bathtub, though it would have been nice to have bath salts or foam provided to enhance the experience. Our room had a small courtyard area with two chairs and a table. While it sounded great in theory, we didn’t end up using it—it felt a bit stuffy, and the frosted glass ceiling didn’t let in much light or provide a view, so it didn’t add much to the ambiance. That said, the interior decor was a lovely blend of modern style and traditional Chinese elements, which gave the place a unique charm. The shower was excellent—strong water pressure and consistent temperature. The hotel layout is a little unusual, with the check-in desk located on the 8th floor and our room on the 7th, but this didn’t cause any issues. One really thoughtful touch: each day next to water bottles we also received four new soda cans in the room. Service was a highlight. The cleaning lady was extremely friendly and attentive, and the breakfast staff were also very kind and welcoming. Breakfast, served on the first floor, offered a wide variety of food options, which we appreciated. A definite highlight was the rooftop bar. It offers an amazing view of the Forbidden City, and there’s even a sign that tells you the best time to catch the sunset—such a nice touch. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay.

Jeff was pleased to talk with as he’s approachable and friendly for us to ask regarding our itinerary for the rest of the day. In terms of the hotel, it was a great experience enough for us to return for a second stay within the same week.

Advertised as English speaking. They are not. Check-in staff are rude, breakfast staff are rude. It was like you are inconvenient to them by being there. Nothing is explained to you. Room was nice but so noisey on 3rd floor from other guests but loud noise from screeching air con fan. I was kept awake by the snoring from the person in the next room. Not a good stay. Certainly didn't feel like it was part of the Hyatt chain.
